Kind and Forgiving

Filed under: Ray Legodi — Ray @ 9:28 am

Our Lord is kind and forgiving, abounding in love to all who call upon Him. He hears our prayers and our cries for mercy! (Ps 88:4-7). In the book of Isaiah we are encouraged to seek the Lord God while He may be found, He will freely pardon our sins (Isa 55:6-7). Jesus Christ extends the invitation to all mankind, saying He is gentle and will give rest to our souls. God forgives any kind of sinner no matter how horrible and bad their sins had become! And we become justified by the Name of our Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit (1Cor 6:9-11).

In the light of the conditions in our country, all believers need to refocus on the sayings of Scripture. What do we see in our country? Is it what we can call freedom? Why does it seem we are still bound by the sins of the past? People are still “caged” by the sins of racism, abuse of women, child abuse, marital unfaithfulness, economic oppressions, intolerance, drug abuse, premature deaths etc. Many of us are still caged in by these sins!

Isn’t it time we started confessing and crying for help to our Lord? Let’s ask the Lord to forgive us for shedding blood (killing) and opening doors for these things! We are Christ’s ambassadors, therefore it is fairly expected of us to stand in the gap and obey the Word of God! He will hear us and forgive our sins and heal our country.

OUR HOPE

Filed under: Ray Legodi — Ray @ 2:08 pm

Believers in Christ Jesus have a hope which is an anchor for the soul. We have Jesus Christ our High Priest who has entered the Presence of God on our behalf. Therefore our souls are firm and secure in Him (Heb 6:19-20). We know and believe that God is always faithful and His unfailing love is great. God is able to do more than we can ask or imagine, according to His Power working in us (Eph 3:20). God’s grace is sufficient and abounding to all of us so that at all times we are sufficiently blessed by Him to do good works (2Cor 9:8).

Therefore with regards to the prevailing circumstances in the land; people hurting, killing and mourning, we can receive our help from the Almighty God who remains faithful forever! (Ps 146:3-10). The thing is, do we believe that God can do more than we ask? Does He still hear us? Have we become so angry that we fail to trust Him? Are we still in the Faith? Are we afraid to ask Him for peace, order and faith? These are mind-boggling.

Are we the kind of the Body of Christ that cannot endure? Do we still have the endurance that is inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus? The Word of God tells us to hope in Christ Jesus our Lord. (1Thess 1:3)

With the turn out of events, we should put our hope in God, and not allow our souls to be disturbed (Ps 42:5).

When we trust in the living Hope which is our Saviour Jesus, the God of Hope will bring us yet more joy, peace and hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom 15:13). Therefore let’s trust God for South Africa; let’s believe God about this country!

TIME OF PEACEMAKING

Filed under: Ray Legodi — Ray @ 3:28 pm

The everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, (Is 9:6) lives inside the hearts of those who love Him. He is able to keep us in Perfect Peace (Is 26:3). Do we believe that as the Body of Christ? (Heb 11:6) The Now Faith pleases God and there are rewards of His Presence! A time of controversial politics best describes our situations. Yet we should not forget the Peace that gave us a breakthrough of reconciliation in our land. The question arises as to whether we have forgotten the Lord our Peace when we entered the “promised zone” in our country? Where does the Church stand? How do believers feel? Are we embarrassed and remorseful or are we angry, scared, afraid or disgusted?

Is 59:8 says “a way of Peace they do not know!” Do we say “Father forgive them?” Believers have to take a righteous stand regardless of race. One cannot say, well deserved” and neither could any of us say “revenge!” Zech 8:19 says we should love Peace and the Truth!

Micah 5:5 says “and He will be their Peace” Do we pray for the leaders of communities? If we don’t, why? What does the Church see now? Aren’t we supposed to promote Peace?

Psa 34:14 advises, warns us to seek peace and pursue it. Prov 12:20 says our joy should be to promote Peace. We should pull down strongholds of violence (resulting in crime always) and proclaim peace (Is 58). Can we believe the Lord to grant us peace in our borders? (Psa 147:14). Let the Church proclaim peace in a time like this (Zech 9:10). The Lord will grant us the True Peace which works within the hearts of mankind, eternal peace (1Chron22:9).  (Phil 4:7) May the Peace of God which transcends all understanding guard your hearts through Christ Jesus, our PEACE. Amen!

God Will Provide

Filed under: Ray Legodi — Ray @ 8:31 am

Gen 22:14 So Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide. And it is said to this day, On the mount of the Lord it will be provided.

Do we as believers really know that in Christ we are always at a place called “God will provide”? Do we believe that honestly? Then what’s the reason for our “alternative” prosperity provisions? Do we acknowledge that God will provide in a place where nothing works out, we’re stressed out, poor, there is disease etc? That is where GOD PROVIDES!

(Isa 43:20) In our deserts, God will provide WATER! Isa 61:3 relates also to our deserts – God will provide comforts! Ps 111:5 says God provides food for those who fear Him. God has also provided redemption for all mankind if they choose to have it (Ps 111:9). We should trust in God through our Lord Jesus Christ who can provide us with everything we need (1Tim 6:17). Let us also stand in the strength that the Lord provides (1 Peter 4:11).

Yet in all these things, do we really trust God to do all these things for us? Are our pressures as hard, tribulations severe, unhappiness, losses, persecutions way over our heads? Do we end up trusting alternatives to God’s provision? How do we come to a stage where we think God has become slow to provide? How far do we trust God? Why do we sell materials with “formulas” as guidelines for prosperity in Christ? Are we “sick and tired” of waiting on the Lord? Have we degenerated into disobedient, self-seeking believers? Do we still know that God will provide? Do we still trust in the Lord and not on our own understanding? What does the world see in us? Do they see people who have lost confidence in their God? Have we gone on to adopt “worldly systems” for provision?

If so, we should pray and return to the Lord! Ask for forgiveness and tell the truth of God’s Provision for all believers!

“One taken, one remaining”

Filed under: Ray Legodi — Ray @ 12:17 pm

You know I was watching a deeply theological programme today, many of the participants were actually talking about the end times and the fact that those who believe would be taken-up in that day and that the great tribulation will commence. Many theologians do not want to come out clear about this aspect. This phenomenon of being taken-up and being no more is quite frightening. You can imagine yourself eating dinner around the table and your loved ones start evaporating into thin air and see them no more. Imagine a teacher disappearing in class!

Mat24:40, two men will be in the field, one will be taken another will be left! Verse 41 says two women will be grinding, one will be taken and the other left! Think of two pilots being taken in mid-air! A spouse taken and another left. Are we ready for the Lord return? In Noah’s days, there was quite a big disregard and people were taken by the floods. Do we believe that we would be taken up? Or is this just controversial? Mat24:42 says Watch! About the Lord Jesus coming, we know that He will come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise first.

1Thes4:16 After that we who are left will be caught up together with them to meet our Lord Christ in the air

We know very well that the Day of the Lord is coming like a thief in the night

(1Thes5:2). While people say peace, we know that destruction will come like never before. Are we alert? 1 Thes5:5 says we are the sons of Light and of the day! We must be alert and self-controlled, for God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation in Christ Jesus.
